Erzurum Commodity Exchange Chairman of the Board Hakan Oral attended the "Real Sector & Finance Sector Dialogue Strengthening Meeting" hosted by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and directly conveyed the problems experienced by the Erzurum and Eastern Anatolia Region business world regarding access to finance and their solution expectations to the general managers and senior managers of the relevant banks.

Speaking at the meeting attended by HalkBank General Manager Recep Süleyman Özdil, VakıfBank General Manager Osman Arslan and Ziraat Bank General Manager Alparslan Çakar, President Hakan Oral stated that the low appraisal values applied to agricultural loans in the Eastern Anatolia Region make it significantly difficult for producers to access financing.

In his speech, Mayor Oral said, "I would like to make a point to our esteemed Ziraat Bank General Manager. That is to say, there are a lot of regional expertise differences in agricultural loans, which the president also mentioned. Dear General Manager, if a decare of wheat-producing field in Erzurum, Ardahan and Kars is worth 100 liras, I give an example, it is 500 liras in Konya. Since the appraisal values are low here too, our agriculturists have access to credit. I would also like to thank my President Erdoğan and President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. If you please give instructions to Ziraat Bank within the scope of KGF, we are also meeting with our regional directorate, but we have not made much progress. Mr. President, we want proactive maturity and record amnesty, it is very urgent. Let me express the real sector as follows: "The cash is exhausted." "My life is just a sigh, which is a capital in the language." Really, there is only one sigh left. Our real sector is in trouble. I offer my respects to everyone. Thank you. Thank you." he said.

Oral stated that the lower valuation of agricultural lands in important production centers such as Erzurum, Ardahan and Kars compared to other regions creates grievances for producers, and emphasized that this practice should be re-evaluated.

At the meeting, Oral also stated that a Licensed Warehousing Loan mechanism with appropriate conditions should be established for the sustainability of licensed warehousing investments carried out in Erzurum, and shared his demands with the bank managers for the effective implementation of Credit Guarantee Fund (KGF) supports, the implementation of proactive loan restructuring opportunities and the regulation for record amnesty.

Drawing attention to the burden of high loan interest rates, commissions and difficulties in accessing finance on the real sector, SMEs, tradesmen and businesses, Mayor Oral also stated that in terms of the sustainability of commercial life, the installment restrictions applied to commercial credit cards should be re-evaluated and relaxed in favor of businesses.

At the meeting, attention was drawn to the importance of strengthening the cooperation between the real sector and the financial sector in terms of the sustainability of production, investment, employment and exports, and it was emphasized that taking steps that will facilitate the business world's access to finance is of great importance for economic sustainability. - ERZURUM
