Regarding the investigation into the death of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, Chairman of the Grand Unity Party (BBP), Mustafa Destici said, "We believe that as a result of a fair and transparent trial that will be conducted without the shadow of any pressure, influence or reckoning, the material truth will be revealed in all its nakedness, justice will be served and this file, which has occupied the conscience of our nation for years, will be concluded within the principles of the rule of law." he said.
Destici made statements about the investigation into the death of the late Chairman of his party, Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, at the press conference he held at the party headquarters.
Expressing that the judicial authorities and police officers are conducting the investigation comprehensively again, Destici said, "Our wish is that our judicial authorities and law enforcement forces continue their activities in strong coordination and meticulousness, revealing the material truth in all its aspects, all the question marks that have been waiting for answers for years are clarified within the framework of the law, and the requirements of the rule of law are fully fulfilled for everyone who is responsible." he said.
Stating that their hope and expectation is that the incident will be clarified and concluded even after 17 years, Destici said:
"Our greatest responsibility towards the cherished memory of our martyr leader Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and his companions, their families' long-standing expectation of justice, and the conscience of our nation is to follow the process within the law until the end and to ensure that justice is fully manifested. We believe that as a result of a fair and transparent trial that will be conducted without any pressure, influence, or any reckoning, the material truth will be revealed in all its nakedness, justice will be served, and this file, which has occupied the conscience of our nation for years, will be concluded within the principles of the rule of law. "Just because justice is delayed does not necessitate giving up on it. Our wish and expectation is that the truth will be revealed in all its aspects and the rule of law will be established in a way that leaves no room for exceptions."
BBP Chairman Destici stated that he remembered with mercy the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the state, democracy and constitutional order in the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on July 15, 2016, and expressed his gratitude to the veterans, and said, "The owner of our state is our nation. No one, no community should and cannot put themselves in the place of the state and attempt to determine the fate of the nation. If they do, the state and the nation will do what is necessary, just like on the night of July 15." "And especially those who hold public office cannot show loyalty to any other country, nation, ethnic group, person, society, community or group other than the authority of the state." he said.
