In Bolu, entry to forest areas was prohibited between 15 July and 30 September due to the risk of forest fire. The Governorship announced that controlled picnics will be allowed only in designated forests and nature parks between 10.00 and 20.00.
Bolu Governorship has taken new measures to prevent forest fires that may occur with the increase in air temperatures. In this context, entrance to forest areas throughout the city was prohibited between 15 July and 30 September 2026. In the statement made by the Governorship, it was stated that picnics can only be held in forests and nature parks announced on the official website, within the specified hours and conditions. In the decision, it was stated that only the use of picnic tubes would be allowed in Abant National Park, and that activities that could cause fire in forest areas and near these areas were prohibited.
"Entry to all forest areas is prohibited until September 30."
In the decision published by the Bolu Governorship, the following statements were made: "Entrance to all forest areas within the borders of Bolu province is prohibited between 15 July 2026 and 30 September 2026. However, in the Forest and Nature Parks announced on the official website of our Governorship, picnics can only be held between 10.00-20.00 hours, provided that no ground fire is lit. In Abant National Park, picnics can be held using stoves, barbecues, barbecues, picnic tubes and samovars. Only picnic tubes can be used during the hours specified above. It is prohibited to light any kind of fire, use barbecues, samovars, picnic tubes, barbecues, etc. in forest areas other than the specified places and conditions. It is prohibited to use firecrackers, wish balloons, etc. that may cause forest fires.
Areas where controlled picnics are allowed during the day were also announced by the Governorship. Accordingly, the forest parks included Çakmaklar Çamlığı, Tokadi Hayrettin and Gökdere in Bolu Center, Amanlar in Dörtdivan, Gerede City Forest in Gerede, Devren Tarla in Kıbrıscık, Şirinyazı in Mengen, Kozyaka and Seben Lake in Seben. Within the scope of nature parks, it was announced that picnics can be held within the framework of the determined rules in Ayıkayası, Göksu, Beşpınar and Kargalı Gölcük in Bolu Center, Sülüklü Lake in Taşkesti town of Mudurnu, Karagöl in Kıbrıscık and Arkut Mountain in Gerede. - BOLU
