Programs were held in the districts of Çankırı on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
At the ceremony held in Orta district, participants marched from the Government House to the 15 July Democracy Square with Turkish flags in their hands.
In the program that continued here, the Holy Quran was read, a moment of silence was observed and the National Anthem was sung.
District Governor Ökkeş Yusuf İnce, in his speech here, said that the night of July 15, 2016 was a historical turning point when the Turkish nation defended democracy, independence and national will.
Orta Mayor Ömer Bezci stated that the Turkish nation has made great sacrifices for the sake of their homeland and independence throughout history and said, "These lands are kneaded with the blood of martyrs. Our flag will continue to fly in the skies forever and our adhans will continue to be recited until the end of time. As long as we maintain our unity and solidarity, the Republic of Turkey will survive forever." he said.
Dodurga Mayor Hasan Hüseyin Kaşıkcı, Kalfat Mayor Salim Doğan, Yaylakent Mayor Ayhan Çavuş, political party representatives, representatives of the public, institutions and organizations, families of martyrs, veterans and many citizens attended the program.
In the program held in Şabanözü Çarşı Square, a moment of silence was observed and the National Anthem was read, followed by a recitation of the Holy Quran and prayers.
After the protocol speeches, Kezban Önder, mother of July 15 martyr Serhat Önder, read the poem she wrote for her son and the martyrs.
After the video screening, hymns were read by the District Mufti's Hymn Group and prayers were made by District Mufti Ertuğrul Görgülü.
Deputy Governor Ahmet Ferhat Özen, Mayor Faik Özcan, District Gendarmerie Commander First Lieutenant Hamza Tetikçi, Deputy District Police Chief Ayhan Karababa, Martyr Serhat Önder's father İsmet and mother Kezban Önder, institution chiefs, representatives of non-governmental organizations and citizens attended the program.
In the program held in Korgun, participants walked from the Government House to the Municipality Square with the Turkish flag in their hands.
In the program that continued at the Korgun Municipality Business Center, the Holy Quran was read and a moment of silence was observed.
The program ended after the protocol speeches.

At the ceremony held in Çerkeş district, after visiting the Çerkeş Martyrdom and praying, the participants walked to the district center.
In the ongoing program, a moment of silence was observed, the National Anthem was sung, and the Holy Quran was recited.
Following the speeches of Deputy District Governor Oğuzhan Gülhan and Çerkeş Mayor Hasan Sopacı, poems were read and a video was shown.
