An event was held in Van's Çatak district on the occasion of "15 July Democracy and National Unity Day".
As part of the event, the march started in front of the District Mufti's Office and ended in front of the Government House.
The program, which continues here, started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem.
Speaking about the meaning and importance of the day, District Governor Abdullah Sarı said that July 15 is a historical day where the will, democracy and independence of the nation are protected.
Chief Public Prosecutor İsmet Turgut Gülşen, District Gendarmerie Commander Senior Major Yılmaz Güngör, Police Chief Ahmet Erdem Çelik, District Director of National Education Hamdi İnan, institution chiefs, political party representatives and citizens attended the program, which continued with events.
