CHP Osmaniye Deputy Asu Kaya, in her speech at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, made the following statements, based on the data of the We Will Stop Femicide Platform:
"According to the data of the We Will Stop Femicide Platform; 150 women were murdered in the first six months of 2026. Moreover, 92 of these women were murdered in their own homes, that is, in the place where they should be safest, 43 percent were murdered by the man they were married to, 7 percent were murdered by their ex-husbands, and 8 women had a state protection order in their pocket. You could not protect them."
Even worse; While suspicious female deaths were 99 in the first six months of 2021, they increased every year due to your impunity policies and jumped to 151 this year. Now every day a woman's death is left in the dark. In this country, femicides are covered up by calling them 'suspicious deaths'. Neither femicide nor suspicious female deaths are fate.
