Referring to the investigation carried out against the Friends Association, the Chairman of the GREAT Unity Party (BBP), Mustafa Destici, said, "It has been revealed that the money collected under the name of aid went to gambling, prostitution and betting. Now we condemn it and hope that he will pay the heaviest price for it."
BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici participated in the wheat harvest in his hometown, rural Gecek District of Eskişehir's Günyüzü district. Stating that farmers should be fed where they were born and that the young population in rural neighborhoods is decreasing day by day, Destici said, "We must support those who produce food, farmers and villagers. This villager will be fed where he was born so that he can stay here. There is currently no young population in the villages. There were 300 students in our village in our time. Currently, there are 3 students. One is the child of our headman, one of the imam and the other is the child of a neighbor. In the past, there were 3-5 in every household. That's why this is the case." "The villager should be fed in the place where this farmer was born. He should live with his head held high. He should have access to education and health. These roads should be better and transportation should be easier so that the villager can stay here and continue producing. What we need to support first is our farmers, our production, our producers. I thank all our farmers for their support to Türkiye's production."
Stating that it is harvest time in barley and wheat fields, Destici said that the product purchase quota of the Soil Products Office (TMO) is insufficient. Making evaluations on this issue, Destici said, "It was said that we will buy all of the products that our farmers bring to the Soil Products Office at the base price. Now we see that a quota is applied. Therefore, this quota should be removed and our Soil Products Office should buy all of the products that the farmer has produced. In other words, the farmers should not suffer in this sense."
Referring to the investigation regarding the Friends Association and Haluk Levent upon the question of journalists, Destici said:
"There is a spiral of immorality. Now, the Ahbap issue is a concrete example of this. The Red Crescent made a mistake when the earthquake started. The management at that time was the president. We said that this was wrong at the time. While saying that this was wrong, we also said that we should protect the institutions of the state. I was one of the politicians who made the highest donations to AFAD at that time. As party members, we also provided aid to the Red Crescent. We did not go and help an organization or association like Ahbap, which is unclear. But unfortunately, some television broadcasters, who were in front of the public at that time, advertised these things every day, and politicians, especially the main opposition, encouraged them to do so. As a result, corruption emerged. It turned out that the money collected under the name of aid went to gambling, prostitution and betting, and we hope that he will pay the heavy price for it.
