(TBMM) - With the bill accepted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Planning and Budget Commission, the lowest pension will be increased from 20 thousand liras to 23 thousand 552 liras, starting from the payment period of July 2026, in line with the CPI increase rate of TURKSTAT for the January-June period.

The Bill on Amendments to Certain Laws and Decree Laws, including the increase of the minimum pension to 23 thousand 552 liras, was accepted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Planning and Budget Commission.

With the proposal, the Social Security and General Health Insurance Law will be amended and the minimum monthly amount paid to retirees and beneficiaries receiving old-age, disability and survivors' pensions will be increased on a file-by-file basis. Accordingly, the base payment, which is currently applied as 20 thousand liras, will be increased to 23 thousand 552 liras, starting from the payment period of July 2026, by the rate of change in the general index of consumer prices (CPI) for the January-June period announced by TÜİK.
