Discussions have commenced in the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee on the Draft Law Amending Certain Laws and Decree-Laws, which includes a regulation to increase the lowest pension.

The committee convened under the chairmanship of AK Party Samsun Deputy Mehmet Muş.

Before the discussions began, Muş initiated a procedural debate at the request of opposition deputies.

CHP Antalya Deputy Cavit Arı argued that articles 16, 17, and 18 of the proposal concern education-related issues and should be discussed in the National Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports Committee.

İYİ Party Samsun Deputy Erhan Usta claimed that the proposal to be discussed was an "omnibus bill," stating, "I leave it to your conscience as the Planning and Budget Committee to decide which of these issues fall within our area of expertise. There are articles related to culture, cinema, and cybersecurity. These are technical articles. Things we cannot possibly have knowledge of."

Muş stated that the criticisms of the opposition deputies were important, saying, "I take every issue you raise into consideration and show sensitivity. The Planning and Budget Committee is, of course, the main specialized committee for budget and financial matters, but it is also a committee that makes regulations concerning administration and organization. It is not only about the budget but also has a planning aspect, and many areas actually overlap with our committee through this planning."

AK Party Samsun Deputy Ersan Aksu, one of the first signatories of the proposal, shared information regarding the regulation.

Aksu announced that with the proposal, they are introducing an important regulation regarding the personnel structure of Ptt, one of Turkey's long-established and historical institutions, stating that the institution's multiple employment structure leads to imbalances in authority, responsibility, and wages within the institution, making it difficult for sectors such as cargo, logistics, and finance, which are among Ptt's activities, to compete.
