The elderly, who participated in the Quran reading events for the martyrs in Düzce, gifted the hatims they downloaded to the soul of 3rd Class Police Chief Ufuk Baysan, who was martyred in the attack on the Special Operations Department in Ankara Gölbaşı during the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on July 15, 2016.
Within the scope of the "Peace for Our Martyrs" activity carried out by the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and the Provincial Mufti's Office, the Holy Quran was read for the martyrs of the homeland on certain days of the week at Muharrem Sancaklı Nursing Home.
In this context, 18 nursing home residents visited Baysan's grave in Çalıcuma District of Beyköy town, prayed at the grave of the martyr, and gifted the reward obtained from the Holy Quran, which they had recited 5 times, to Baysan's soul.
88-year-old Muzaffer Petek, one of the residents of the nursing home, told the AA correspondent that although he lived in the village on the night of July 15, he came to the city and fought to protect his homeland.
Stating that Türkiye is a very strong country, Petek said, "They will never destroy this country, I know this very well, we will not collapse. I am a very good nationalist and I love my state very much. I love my country and I lived my 88 years in this country. I have been in a nursing home for 6 years and I have learned so much here that I cannot explain." he said.
76-year-old Fehmi Yavuz also stated that the night of July 15 was a very difficult night.
Stating that it was very bad that people suffered until the morning that night, Yavuz said, "Adhans were recited and prayers were given. It was like a war, but it was not actually a war. Many people were martyred, disabled, and became veterans because of naughty people. We went through a very difficult process. After that, some people were sent to prison, but we had martyrs. There is nothing as beautiful as martyrdom. The homeland is indivisible, it cannot be given away easily, because the homeland is loved and protected. We have to protect our homeland." he said.
