AYNUR EKİZ - Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, Efkan Ala, said that during the treacherous coup attempt of July 15, the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) attacked TÜRKSAT to interrupt television broadcasts, and thereupon, they quickly delivered the weapons, which they tendered and purchased but not yet received, to the region by contacting the factory, and with these weapons, they prevented the helicopters used by FETO members from entering.

Efkan Ala made a statement to the AA correspondent regarding the 10th anniversary of FETO's treacherous coup attempt on July 15, 2016.

About this coup attempt, Ala said, "It was an attempt by outside intelligence organizations to turn Türkiye into Syria with the help of FETO inside" and added, "After 10 years, those who had some question marks that day understood very clearly that on the night of July 15, Türkiye was brought back from the edge of a huge cliff." he said.

Ala noted that the treacherous coup attempt of July 15 was the name of treason.

Stating that this vile coup attempt was eliminated that night with the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the nation standing behind him and his staff fulfilling their duty as a matter of right, Ala said, "July 15 is also a change of scissors in terms of our democracy. No one can try and usurp the will of the nation anymore." made his assessment.

Ala said that the will shown took Türkiye from the edge of the cliff that night.

Reminding that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said "Nothing will be the same in Türkiye" while establishing the AK Party, Ala said, "After July 15, nothing will be the same for those who intend to attack the national will and usurp the will in Türkiye." he said.

That night, special operations police officers working in the Southeast were brought to Ankara.

Noting that the most important decision made that night was that President Erdoğan called the nation to the squares, streets and avenues via television, Ala said that the nation wholeheartedly and risked their lives to protect the country for this call.

Ala described the first instruction he gave as the then Minister of Internal Affairs on the night of the July 15 treacherous coup attempt as follows:

"The first instruction we gave that night was: 'We will confront them with weapons. They will never be ignored. None of our units will open their doors to them. This terrorist organization will be put to its limits by responding with weapons.' This is the instruction we gave to our General Director of Security. We said, 'Notify all organizations in this way'."

Reminding that FETO traitors martyred 51 police officers in the attack on the Gölbaşı Special Operations Center in Ankara, Ala called the then Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Ahmet Arslan, and explained that they negotiated to bring many special operations police officers who were on duty in terrorist operations in the Southeast at that time to Ankara by planes.

"We also had the airport runway used by traitors bombed."

Explaining that he called the General Director of Police at the time after the so-called coup declaration was read on TRT, Ala said, "I called our General Director of Security and gave a very clear instruction: 'Destroy the TRT building if necessary and broadcast from the rubble.'" he said.

Ala stated that the police officers cleared TRT from the FETO terrorist organization.

Reminding that the FETO terrorist organization used military airports to drop bombs on the nation with planes that night, Ala said, "By giving instructions to another unit, we met with our President and Prime Minister and had the airport runway used by the traitors bombed. Thus, they could no longer fly planes." he said.

A list of so-called martial law commanders was found in the pocket of the traitor commander detained by the governor.

Ala talked about what happened at TÜRKSAT, which was bombed by warplanes captured by junta soldiers in order to interrupt television broadcasts during the coup attempt.

"They attacked TÜRKSAT to seize the televisions. They martyred some of our brothers there. Thereupon, we contacted those factories that day to assemble the weapons that we had actually bought by making a tender but had not yet been delivered, brought a few of them at the same time, and cleared the area by preventing the helicopters they used from entering there, so that they had the intention of seizing all the televisions and the entire communication network from there. That too failed," said Ala, adding that they were in constant dialogue with the governors that night.

Ala said, "The traitor commander, who was assigned as the garrison commander in Bursa, was taken into custody by the Governor of Bursa. When he was taken into custody, a list of the people they appointed as the so-called martial law commanders throughout Türkiye was found in his pocket. We sent that list to the whole of Türkiye and made sure that the governorships took them into custody." he said.

AK Party Deputy Chairman Ala said, "It turns out that a country can be attacked, but if the nation of the country, the patriots within the state, the leader and the politician all act together and their hearts beat together, not even a cannon can digest it, and the country will save itself from all these troubles and move towards its goal with confident steps." he said.

"We built a Türkiye that contributes to peace and tranquility"

Reminding that they made very important reforms such as the structure of the National Security Council, the Supreme Military Council and the connection of the General Staff to the Ministry of National Defense, Ala said, "Thus, our army became stronger and the Turkish Armed Forces became able to deal with their own business. Therefore, it achieved incredible success in the fight against terrorism and took Türkiye beyond its borders. We have built a Turkey that contributes to peace and tranquility in 18 regions and countries of the world in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Somalia." made his assessment.

"Our army has become stronger in a way that suits Türkiye," said Ala, adding that this was confirmed at the NATO Summit.

Underlining that the Turkish Armed Forces, politics, institutions and democracy have become stronger, Ala said, "We have a long way to go. These need to be institutionalized. These must now be included in the regulations in an irreversible way. Therefore, we wish to guarantee all these and more by making a new constitution and to bring Türkiye together with a system that will focus on its opportunities." He made a statement.

"There has been a mental paradigm shift in Türkiye"

AK Party Deputy Chairman Ala stated that the nation made a decision on July 15 and said, "From now on, Turkey will walk in democracy. From now on, politics will govern Türkiye. Institutions will do their own thing. Politics will build its own management system. And coups will not even have an 'example' in Türkiye anymore. Coups will no longer be talked about in Türkiye. No one will even think of a coup attempt. Because, they will be face to face with the nation. This is now an incredible gain for Türkiye." expressed his opinion.

Noting that institutions, politics and society are focusing on the future and cooperating in steps that will enable Türkiye to gain a greater place in the world and become stronger in its region, Ala said, "There has been a mental paradigm shift in Türkiye. Both our institutions, politics and our nation have believed in the necessity of collaborating to build Türkiye and continue their activities in this way. This has been Türkiye's biggest gain." he said.

Stating that the press, especially Anadolu Agency, had an important test on the night of July 15, Ala said, "The nation stood against this coup attempt together with our President. I congratulate you, I congratulate you. Because the understanding of democracy that we have brought to Türkiye together has now been irrevocably accepted by everyone, and a climate has been created in which no one will dare to eliminate democracy again." he said.

"The medal belongs to Turkey, the success belongs to Turkey"

Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, Ala, hosted the 36th event hosted by Türkiye. Stating that the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit demonstrated Türkiye's prestige worldwide, he said, "A summit that Türkiye deserves as a regional power and a global actor was held." he said.

Noting that a summit was held worthy of the leaders' diplomacy put forward by President Erdoğan on both global and regional problems, Ala continued his words as follows:

"As a result of Türkiye's involvement in international and regional problems as a brand country, this summit was held with such high-level participation and in such an effective manner. The medal belongs to Turkey, the success belongs to Turkey. Our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who worked by keeping Türkiye and his nation above all else, took the leadership, and it was demonstrated in the eyes of everyone all over the world, what kind of respect it was, and what kind of prestige those efforts produced. It is a prestigious summit that cannot be compared with its predecessors, and it is Türkiye's. "A summit whose prestige has been underlined many times has been completed. Everyone should be proud of this. Türkiye has achieved a success to be truly proud of with the NATO Summit."

"When it is freed from the shackles of terrorism, it will achieve a climate favorable to 86 million people."

Ala stated that Türkiye has made great progress in the fight against terrorism so far, and that the democratic steps taken have increased society's trust in democracy and the state, and underlined that those democratic steps have also reduced the support of those who unknowingly support terrorism.

Stating that the reforms made as a requirement of respect for human rights and freedoms have also increased opposition to terrorism, Ala stated that everyone understands that terrorism is a crime against humanity that harms everyone.

"When Türkiye is freed from the shackles of terrorism, it will achieve a climate that will be in favor of 86 million people," said Ala, adding that Türkiye will focus on opportunities.

"It will become clear how timely and how right a project Terror-free Türkiye is"

Stating that the political climate in Türkiye will evolve from a situation where everyone loses to a situation where everyone wins, Ala said, "I see a very serious support in the society. There is also political support like there was not in the past. The international and regional conjuncture is also suitable for this." he said.

Noting that the collapse of the despotic Baath regime in Syria and the coming to power of the regime supported by the people made the Terror-Free Turkey process more possible, Ala said, "When the situations in Syria, Iraq and Türkiye are taken into consideration together, it will become clear how timely and how accurate the Terror-Free Turkey project is." made his assessment.

Ala stated that it is a project of those who understand that terrorist organizations such as FETO cannot change direction in Türkiye with too much external intervention, and that the AK Party has demonstrated an incredible performance in clearing out these tools.

Without complacency, Ala noted that various measures have been taken and will be taken to eliminate the structure of this FETO terrorist organization, to purge the members of the organization from the state and to prevent them from corrupting the society, and that from now on, measures will be taken to prevent such terrorist organizations from harming Türkiye.
