EMEP Gaziantep Deputy Sevda Karaca Demir stated that the rights of PTT employees should be protected.
Demir, at the press conference he held in the Parliament, argued that the Unemployment Insurance Fund was not used in favor of the unemployed.
Reminding that the Bill on Amendments to Certain Laws and Decree Laws, including the regulation regarding the increase of the lowest pension, was discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Planning and Budget Commission, Demir claimed that the incentives related to the field of culture and arts in the proposal were made for some companies.
Demir stated that the Proposal on Amendments to the Higher Education Law and Some Laws, which also includes the regulation for student amnesty, was discussed in the National Education, Culture and Youth Commission, and said that the proposal includes incentives for university owners.
Demir stated that they did not accept the layoffs at foundation universities and demanded that all universities be nationalized.
Reminding that the proposal also includes regulations regarding PTT employees, Demir emphasized that the rights of PTT employees must be protected.
Reminding that the minimum pension will be increased to 23 thousand 552 liras, Demir said that this figure is insufficient and said, "These proposals showed that the government's choice is not on the workers, but on the side of the capital. The Unemployment Insurance Fund belongs to the workers. Secure employment and union organization must be guaranteed in all business lines." made his assessment.
