The "15 July Democracy and National Unity Day Commemoration Center" prepared within the scope of the 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day events in Erzincan, the "Chronological Photography Exhibition Describing the Events of 15 July" and the "15 July Themed Book Exhibition" were opened with a ceremony.
Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydoğdu, 3rd Army Chief of Staff and Garrison Commander Major General Murat Ataç, Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Rector Prof. attended the opening program. Dr. He participated in the provincial protocol with Akın Levent.
Governor Aydoğdu, who cut the opening ribbon with the protocol members, then visited the memorial center and photo and book exhibitions.
Aydoğdu stated that the commemoration center contains photographs, video footage, newspaper clippings and information boards describing the events chronologically, describing the July 15 coup attempt and its aftermath.
Stating that the center also has a virtual reality area that offers a different experience to visitors, Aydoğdu invited all citizens to visit the memorial center.
Emphasizing that the July 15 epic written with the unity and solidarity of the nation under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will never be forgotten, Aydoğdu said, "July 15 is not only the night when our nation eliminated a betrayal, but also the day when it declared to the whole world that its independence cannot be shackled, that it will not drop its flag and will not surrender its will to any tutelage." he said.
Drawing attention to the importance of explaining to future generations the price for which the homeland was gained, Aydoğdu said that they commemorate the martyrs with mercy and gratitude and wish the veterans a healthy and long life.
