Eskişehir Governor Dr. Erdinç Yılmaz stated that for the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, the Turkish nation wrote a historical heroic epic by shielding its chest against the treacherous focus that targeted its independence and democracy on the night of July 15.

Governor Dr. Erdinç Yılmaz published a statement on the 10th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt of July 15. Emphasizing national unity and solidarity in his message, Governor Yılmaz stated that those who tried to capture the will of the Turkish nation were helpless against their love of homeland.

"He attempted to capture the will of our beloved nation."

Governor Yılmaz included the following statements in his message:

"We are commemorating the 10th anniversary of the epic heroism of the Turkish nation against one of the darkest betrayals of our history. On the night of July 15, 2016, a treacherous group, aiming at our independence and democracy, attempted to capture the will of our beloved nation. However, there was one thing they forgot: The children of this land, with the strength they receive from their faith and love of their homeland, will not kneel before any power. That night, they took to the streets with their women, men, young and old. "Our fallen nation has once again shouted to the whole world that 'sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation' by shielding its chest from the gun barrels."

"I remember all our heroes with respect"

Stating that the nation's determination continues despite the intervening ten years, Yılmaz said, "Despite the intervening 10 years, our determination and national consciousness on that night maintain the freshness of the first day. July 15 is not only a symbol of resistance, but also a symbol of our determination to protect the indivisible integrity, the law of brotherhood and the future of this country. On this occasion, I commemorate all our dear martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the survival of our state on the night of July 15, with mercy and gratitude. I wish our veterans a healthy and prosperous life. I respectfully commemorate all our heroes who made these lands our homeland, especially the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
