The detention of 22 people, including AHBAP Association President Haluk Levent, within the scope of the corruption investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has become the number one agenda item for the public. Famous journalist Fatih Altaylı, who wrote an article in his own column on the subject, reminded the critical warnings he made in the past about Haluk Levent and the financial structure of the association.
Altaylı stated that he had personally conveyed to Haluk Levent in the past that he had received serious rumors that the artist had started his gambling addiction again. He emphasized that due to these concerns, he also advocated at that time that the financial structure of the AHBAP Association should be presented to the public in a completely open and transparent manner.
Reiterating his emphasis on transparency in his article, Fatih Altaylı called for large donations made to the association to be openly shared with the public. Pointing to the association's website, Altaylı stated that despite claims of transparency, there are no independent audit reports on the site.
Stating that being right after the recent events did not give him any satisfaction, Altaylı included the following striking expressions in his article: "As Deniz Göktaş said while making fun of me, 'Didn't I say so, Emre!' I won't say. Because sometimes you don't want to be right, you don't want to be right, you don't want to know, you want to be wrong."
