46 of the 311 suspects caught in the drug and smuggling operations carried out by the gendarmerie in Gaziantep in the last month were sent to prison.
Under the coordination of Gaziantep Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, many operations were carried out in June to combat smuggling and drugs throughout the province. During the operations, 243 incidents were intervened and 311 suspects were caught. While 46 of the suspects taken into custody were arrested and sent to prison, 265 suspects were released on condition of judicial control.
During the searches within the scope of the operation, customs smuggled 128 thousand pieces of macarons, 1230 packs of cigarettes, 655 electronic materials, 600 other materials, 211 kilograms of hookah coal, 124 mobile phones, 23 headphones, 34 tablets, 96 kilograms of tobacco, 35 kilograms of hookah tobacco, 18 wristwatches, 5 unlicensed pistols and magazines, 9 unlicensed hunting rifles, 583 ammunition, 1 kilo 16 grams of marijuana, 611 cannabis roots, 188 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of bonzai, 1,565 synthetic pills, 23 drug paraphernalia, 19 historical bronze coins and 5 historical objects were seized. - GAZİANTEP
