The dangerous movements exhibited by young people on giant concrete fortification blocks and cranes in the Faroz Port of Trabzon's Ortahisar district are inviting disaster.
In order to prevent severe Black Sea waves from damaging Faroz Port, approximately 6 thousand giant concrete blocks, each weighing 18-22 tons, are being placed around the port. While these structures, which were arranged for naval fortifications with the help of a giant crane, were supposed to be a construction site, the area has recently turned into a dangerous playground for young people.
Despite all the warnings of the surrounding residents, the young people who climb onto the concrete blocks and crane tens of meters high disregard their lives. Residents of the area demand that the authorities completely block entrances to the construction site and that inspections in the area be urgently increased. - TRABZON
