The search activity carried out within the scope of the Gülistan Doku investigation in Tunceli continues meticulously in various parts of the city.
While 12 of the 15 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation of Gülistan Doku, a second-year student of Munzur University's Department of Child Development, who has been missing in Tunceli since January 5, 2020, were arrested, a judicial control order was issued for 3 of them. A red notice was issued by Interpol for the fugitive suspect Umut Altaş, who was in the USA, and as a result of the joint activity carried out by the US Marshals Service (USMS) and the Interpol Washington and Homeland Security Investigations Unit (HSI) New York office, Altaş was caught and detained in the USA on May 22. Altaş, who is expected to be extradited to the country, made a statement before he was caught. Stating that he did not know the exact location of the body, Altaş stated that the garbage area next to the water treatment plant in Munzur University and its surroundings, Aktuluk District and Bayraktepe should be checked. Under the coordination of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice, search activities were initiated by teams consisting of the Tunceli Provincial Gendarmerie Command Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) Team, Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) and Central Gendarmerie Commando Battalion Command Teams, with the support of an underground imaging device, according to the points stated by Altaş and narrowed base data. The teams' search activities continue in the area between Rostar and Dinar Creek and in various parts of the city.
