South Korean President Lee Jae Myung emphasized that understanding those who escaped from North Korea and took refuge in their country will form the basis of social integration as the two Koreas prepare for a "future of living together."
According to Yonhap agency, President Lee published a written message on the special day of July 14 every year for those who escaped from North Korea and took refuge in South Korea.
Lee stated that understanding and trusting these people will form the basis of social integration and play an important role in preparing for a "future where the two Koreas will live together."
Emphasizing that they will ensure "permanent peace" on the Korean Peninsula, Lee stated that he will strive to lead a future of "coexistence and cooperation" instead of conflicts.
