The tomb of poet İsmail Safa, father of Peyami Safa, one of the master pens of Turkish literature, is located in Sivas. Prof. Dr. Süheyla Yüksel, a faculty member at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Turkish Folklore, stated that many citizens are unaware of the existence of the tomb, which was moved to the Ali Ağa Mosque graveyard years ago, and added that İsmail Safa spent the last period of his life in Sivas.
