Hyundai won 3 awards within the scope of "Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026", one of the world's prestigious design organizations.
According to the statement made by the company, the brand's robotic mobility platform, Mobile Eccentric Droid (MobED) Urban Hopper & Golf, was awarded the "Best of the Best" award, while "Concept THREE" and "CRATER Concept" won two separate "Winner" awards.
MobED Urban Hopper & Golf was also nominated for the competition's highest award, "Luminary." The winner of the Luminary award, which will be selected as the most inspiring design of the year, will be announced at the ceremony to be held in October.
The success achieved once again reveals Hyundai's vision that combines its design approach with advanced technologies and its innovative perspective on the mobility of the future.
Developed by Hyundai Robotics LAB, MobED stands out as a new generation modular robotic mobility platform that offers advanced adaptability and scalability.
Thanks to its innovative Drive-and-Lift (DnL) system and eccentric stance control mechanism, MobED can maintain its balance even on uneven ground, inclined surfaces and pavements up to 20 centimeters.
The MobED platform, where different upper modules can be easily integrated thanks to its modular rail system, offers wide customization opportunities in daily life and recreation areas by adapting to different usage scenarios with a single robotic solution.
Concept THREE, which was deemed worthy of the Winner award, brings together Hyundai's new generation compact electric mobility vision with aerodynamic efficiency, emotional design and ease of use.
Developed as the most compact model of the IONIQ family, the concept introduces the new "Aero Hatch" body type, combining compact dimensions with large interior volume and sporty proportions.
In the exterior design, Hyundai's "Art of Steel" design language has been reconsidered with a softer and user-oriented interpretation, while in the interior, the driver-oriented cockpit layout, basic controls positioned around the steering wheel and sustainable materials such as recycled textile and aluminum foam attract attention.
CRATER Concept, which won the Winner award within the scope of Red Dot Design Concept 2026, stands out as an electric SUV concept developed to offer confidence, control and durability in difficult terrain conditions.
In the concept, which makes you feel at first glance that it is ready for off-road use with its sharp geometric lines, solid body structure and functional design details, details such as "parametric pixel" lighting and ceiling-mounted off-road lamps, hexagonal wheel design, wide fenders and protective lower body plates support both durability and visual power.
Hyundai & Genesis Global Design President and Vice President SangYup Lee, whose views were included in the statement, stated that these awards are the result of the strong combination of design philosophies and future visions, and stated that they will continue to push the boundaries with their design approaches to offer differentiated value to customers and develop new experiences.
