AK Party General Secretary and Izmir Deputy Eyyüp Kadir İnan published a message on his social media accounts on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.

İnan stated that there were circles that were waiting for the outcome of the coup attempt on the night of July 15, 2016, and could not take a clear stance in favor of democracy and the will of the nation.

Stating that those who choose to remain silent in the face of guns pointed at the will of the nation act with the understanding of "Something is happening in Turkey, let's wait", İnan stated the following in his statement:

"While they were watching the advance of tanks, the fire opened by planes in our skies, and the bombing of our Gazi Parliament, our dear nation had already made its decision. Our nation did not wait that night, did not hesitate, did not calculate the outcome."

İnan: “Those who were waiting for the outcome of the uprising ten years ago are waiting for the decisions Turkey will make today.”

Emphasizing that millions of citizens came to the squares upon the call of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, İnan noted that the nation put its lives on the line and protected its homeland, flag, independence and future.

Reminding that 10 years have passed since July 15, İnan stated that Turkey has become a strong country whose voice and will are expected in global issues during this period.

"Those who made calculations about Turkey's future that night are waiting for what Turkey will say on global issues today. Those who watched the situations in Ankara from afar that night are waiting for Ankara's will today."

“We showed that this nation will not be an extra in any scenario.”

Stating that the Turkish nation not only prevented a coup attempt on the night of July 15, but also disrupted the plans made on Türkiye, İnan continued his statement as follows:

"On July 15, we showed those who tried to include Turkey in their own calculations that this nation will not be an extra in any scenario. We declared to the whole world that calculations cannot be made through this nation, our nation's will cannot be guided and no games can be played with Turkey."
