Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said that they are ready to take steps to withdraw from the two pilot areas in the south of Lebanon within the framework of the framework agreement they signed with the Beirut administration.
At a press conference held in Tel Aviv with Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, Minister Saar spoke about bilateral relations with the Prague administration and the occupation in southern Lebanon.
Stating that they expect the talks held in Rome between the Lebanese and Israeli delegations to contribute to the implementation of the agreement that includes the withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from two pilot areas in the south of Lebanon, Saar continued his words as follows:
"We are ready to take steps to implement these two pilot zones. I hope and even believe that the negotiation round in Rome will accelerate the process."
Touching on bilateral relations with the Czech Republic, Saar argued that some left-wing governments within the European Union (EU) have an exclusionary attitude towards Israel and thanked the Prague administration for its support to Tel Aviv.
Saar claimed that Macinka, who had previously announced that he would veto the EU's decision to impose trade sanctions against Israel and that they would not allow it even if he was alone, "did not allow the EU to become a tool of anti-Israel policies."
On the other hand, Saar and Macinka attended the Israel-Czechia Business Forum, which was held with the participation of more than 200 businessmen. The duo also signed a joint declaration stipulating the establishment of a permanent business form that will meet regularly every year.
