In the operation carried out by police teams on a truck on the Anatolian Highway in Sakarya, 1 ton of ethyl alcohol, which can be used in the production of approximately 4 tons of fake alcohol, was seized.
The Sakarya Provincial Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch Directorate teams, which carry out their activities within the scope of protecting public health and combating smuggling under the coordination of the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, followed a suspicious truck traveling from Istanbul to Ankara. The teams took action after technical and physical follow-up and carried out an operation by stopping the truck at the Bekirpaşa toll booths in Erenler district of the Anatolian Highway. During the search of the truck belonging to K.D. (38), 1 ton of ethyl alcohol, which could be used to produce approximately 4 tons of fake alcohol if released to the market, was seized. The operation prevented the supply of smuggled products that seriously threaten human health to the market. Legal proceedings were initiated against the detained suspect. - SAKARYA
