"CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid), one of the two general-purpose experiments carried out on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, is considered one of the world's largest international scientific collaborations where research is carried out to understand the basic building blocks of the universe. CMS Experiment carries out activities in the most important research areas of modern physics, such as testing the Standard Model, investigating the properties of the Higgs Boson, searching for dark matter and new particles. ATLAS and CMS experiments, He achieved one of the most important scientific achievements in the history of particle physics by independently confirming the existence of the Higgs Boson in 2012, and made the discovery subject to the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics.
"Just as it was accepted as a member of the ATLAS Experiment with its own voting rights in 2023, Istinye University, which is also a member of the CMS Experiment this year, has become a member of the experiments in its own name, in a way that will increase the national visibility in the ATLAS and CMS experiments, as it sees the strengthening of Türkiye's representation in international scientific platforms as a national priority.
