Bozyazı District Governor Tuncay Topsakaloğlu published a message on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
In his message, Topsakaloğlu stated that the Turkish nation has overcome many hardships and fought tough struggles throughout history.
Stating that the nation came to the squares like a flood upon the call of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on July 15, 2016 and claimed their independence and future once again, Topsakaloğlu said:
"Our beloved nation, which did not allow the coup attempt to abolish our constitutional order, fundamental rights and freedoms, kept democracy watch in the squares for days with the spirit of Çanakkale and once again shouted to the whole world that the coup plotters would not be allowed and that the gains of our democracy will survive forever."
