The tent with the theme "Our Will, Our Victory", established in Kırıkkale for the 10th anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt, was opened to visitors. While citizens were visiting the tent where the events of that night were explained through virtual reality applications and video screenings, one citizen's words, "I would love to be martyred on that road," were touching.
In the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization/Parallel State Structure (FETO/PDY) on July 15, 2016, Türkiye's critical institutions and strategic points were targeted by the coup plotters, and citizens who came to the squares upon the call of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan fought against the coup plotters together with the security forces. After the coup attempt was prevented by the will of the nation, July 15 was declared "Democracy and National Unity Day". Various events were held in Kırıkkale for the 10th anniversary of July 15. The installation of the tent with the theme "Our Will, Our Victory", organized by the Presidency Directorate of Communications, was carried out by Kırıkkale Governorship. The tent opened to citizens in Cumhuriyet Square included video screenings, virtual reality applications, various visual contents and photographs of the martyrs, describing what happened on the night of July 15. Thanks to the prepared applications, visitors had the opportunity to closely examine what happened during the coup attempt and the resistance displayed by the nation.
Governor Hüseyin Engin Sarıibrahim, who signed the July 15 Memorial Book, said that they commemorated the July 15 martyrs with mercy and that they were always with the veterans. Governor Sarıibrahim said, "On the 10th anniversary of July 15, we made the first visit to the tent titled 'The Will is Ours, the Victory is Ours', organized by the Presidency Directorate of Communications. Once again, we commemorate our martyrs with respect and respect. May God have mercy on them. We express that we are always with our veterans."
Stating that there are virtual reality applications, videos and various activities in the tent, Governor Sarıibrahim said, "The young generations are told what kind of attack our Republic was under during the July 15 period and how this attack was repelled by the will of the nation and under the leadership of our President. It was a very appropriate and beautiful application with its visuals. I would like to thank everyone who contributed."
"When we heard what happened, we went to the squares with our flags"
Asuman Laçinok, who visited the tent, said that they felt great sadness when they learned about the coup attempt and that they went to the squares with Turkish flags. Laçinok said, "We were all very upset when we heard what happened that night. We ran to the squares as much as we could, prayed. We wanted to do everything we could. This was the best we could do. I wish such an event had never happened. When we heard what happened, we went to the squares with our flags. We supported the struggle with our prayers and takbirs. I would have loved to be martyred on that path. It was also a matter of fate."
Mustafa Çağlar stated that the nation prevented greater disasters by protecting its country and said, "We are here now for the July 15 commemoration program. I hope we will never experience this great disaster that our nation experienced and we will not encounter such events again. If our nation had not protected its country, we would have faced civil wars and much worse events today. God looked at us. We eliminated this attack with the will of our nation."
"May God enlighten the place where they all rest"
Nurcan Ceylan also said that July 15 reminded her of the martyrs who lost their lives for the sake of the country. Ceylan said, "July 15 reminds me of our immortal martyrs. It was a very sad event for our country. We lost many lives for the sake of the homeland. We say 'Martyrs do not die, the homeland is indivisible'. We are experiencing very emotional moments. We return to those days and feel sad. May God enlighten the resting place of all of them."
Garrison and Ammunition Commander Brigadier General Mehmet Ali Durmuş, Provincial Police Chief Mustafa Işık, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Hasan Acar and protocol members also visited the tent. - KIRIKKALE
