The 15 July Democracy and National Unity Day Commemoration Tent and the National Will and Democracy Exhibition, consisting of photographs taken by Anadolu Agency (AA) photojournalists, were opened by Kırklareli Governorship.
The exhibition consisting of photographs taken by AA photojournalists during and after the July 15 coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) was opened to visitors in the commemoration tent set up on İstasyon Street.
Kırklareli Governor Uğur Turan stated that they came together on the 10th anniversary of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day to once again remember the epic written by our beloved nation protecting its national will and democracy and to keep the sacred memories of the martyrs alive.
Stating that the commemoration tent that was opened is not just an area where photographs and documents are exhibited, Turan said, "This area is the memory of the democracy epic written by our nation, the symbol of the determination to protect the national will and a historical trust left to future generations. Every photo, every document and every memory here will tell how our beloved nation protected its homeland, flag, call to prayer, state and national will on the night of July 15. Especially our young people will not only learn our recent history in this memory place, "At the same time, he will realize how valuable unity and solidarity, courage, sacrifice and defending democracy are." he said.
Pointing out that nations that forget their history and heroes cannot build a solid future, Turan invited all citizens, especially young people, to visit this meaningful memory area.
Following the speeches, Governor Turan, 55th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier General Erdal Köse, Deputy Mayor Burak Süzulmuş, Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor İsmet Saçlı, Kırklareli University Rector Prof. Dr. Rengin Ak, institution managers and veterans visited the memorial tent and the exhibition.
