During the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day program held at the Consulate General of Türkiye in Cologne, balloons bearing the names of the martyrs were released into the sky.
Representatives of Turkish non-governmental organizations and citizens attended the program held at the Consulate General campus on the anniversary of the coup attempt on July 15, 2016.
The program started with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a salute for those who lost their lives on July 15.
In the program, prayers were said after the recitation of the Holy Quran.
In his speech here, Türkiye's Consul General in Cologne, Hüseyin Kantem Al, made evaluations about the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) and what happened on the night of July 15.
Al stated that they protected the democracy and will of the Turkish nation on the night of July 15 and said that they commemorated the martyrs with mercy and veterans with gratitude.
In the program, videos and photographs depicting FETO's coup attempt and what happened on the night of July 15 were also shown to the participants.
At the end of the event, balloons bearing the names of the July 15 martyrs were released into the sky by the participants.
