At the hearing held at the Istanbul 13th Criminal Court of First Instance, the undetained defendant Tuba Ulu and her lawyers were present. At the hearing, Tuba Ulu, who was asked by the judge about her defense against the opinion announced in the previous session, said, "I demand my acquittal. I do not accept the action aimed at humiliating women stated in the opinion. I do not accept the accusation, considering that as a woman living in Türkiye, I struggle in every field. I also made positive discrimination against women in my demonstrations."
In his last words, Ulu said, "I think the statements in question are divisive. It is out of the question for me to humiliate anyone."
Announcing his decision, the judge decided that Ulu would be sentenced to 5 months in prison for 'publicly humiliating a segment of the public' and that the announcement of the verdict would be postponed. - ISTANBUL
