It was reported that Lebanese President Joseph Aoun instructed the negotiating team to demand that Israel begin to withdraw immediately from the two pilot areas it occupied in the south of Lebanon during the talks to be held tomorrow and the next day in Rome, the capital of Italy.
According to the written statement made by the Lebanese Presidency, Aoun received Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Baabda Palace in the east of the capital Beirut.
During the meeting, the general situation in the country and the situation in the south of Lebanon, where Israel continues its attacks, were discussed.
The parties also evaluated the new round of Lebanon-Israel negotiations, which will be held in Rome tomorrow and the next day under the leadership of the USA.
In the statement, it was stated that AoN instructed the negotiating team to demand Israel's withdrawal from the two pilot areas it occupied in the south of Lebanon, in accordance with the framework agreement signed last month, before any other issues were discussed.
During the meeting, Selam also gave information to Avn about his official visit to Türkiye and his contacts with Turkish officials, especially President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
On the other hand, preparations for President Avn's visit to the USA on July 21 and his meeting with US President Donald Trump were also discussed.
