2 people lost their lives in 2 separate accidents that occurred yesterday in MALATYA.
The light commercial vehicle with plate number 44 HH 177, going from Elazığ to Malatya and whose driver's name is unknown, hit Gülay Kaya (57) who was trying to cross the road in Battalgazi district Çamurlu Mahallesi. Kaya was seriously injured in the accident. Following the first intervention of the medical teams who were dispatched to the scene of the traffic incident upon notice, Kaya was taken to the hospital. However, Kaya could not be saved despite all the efforts of the doctors. After the accident, the driver was taken into custody.
In Dilek District of Yeşilyurt district, the truck with plate number 44 LF 432, driven by Ali Öztürk (41), fell into the irrigation canal as a result of its driver losing control of the steering wheel. Upon notice, to the scene; Health, gendarmerie and Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams were dispatched. Ali Öztürk, who was stuck in the vehicle, was removed by the fire brigade and handed over to the medical teams. Öztürk, who was taken to Malatya Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved despite all the interventions of the doctors.
While the bodies of Ali Öztürk and Gülay Kaya were taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy, an investigation was launched into both accidents.
