According to the written statement made by the Ministry, the magazine prepared by the Press and Public Relations Consultancy, which covers different aspects of the nation's rise to democracy, independence and national will, included the foreword of the Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, titled "The Responsibility of July 15 on Our Education".
In his foreword, Minister Tekin stated that on the night of July 15, 2016, it was declared to the whole world that the nation did not allow tutelage to be established over its own destiny and that no tutelage center could exist as a power above the nation, and said, "Tens of thousands who took to the streets that night shouted at the cost of their lives with the faith in their hearts that the real owner of the state was the nation itself. That power, manifested in the squares under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is the power of our nation." Emphasizing that FETO's coup attempt cannot be considered as an isolated incident that occurred overnight, Tekin noted that the organization has used religious values as a curtain, education as a basis, bureaucracy as a base and youth as a human resource for years, and at the last stage, it turned its weapon against the nation and the legitimate government.
"An understanding that delegates its reasoning to a person can turn into a serious threat."
Tekin stated that the survival of the state is directly related to the ability of a person to protect his mind, will and personality, and said, "This is one of the most critical lessons that July 15 taught us. The type of person who delegates his judgment to an individual, his loyalty to an organization, and his direction to a closed hierarchy can turn into a serious threat to himself, society and the state." he said.
Underlining that the most permanent guarantee of the fight against FETO is the upbringing of children with a deep-rooted understanding of education, Tekin emphasized that education is the central issue of understanding July 15.
Minister Tekin stated that any understanding that replaces schools with uncontrolled networks, instead of teachers with organizational guidance, mechanical exam success instead of knowledge, and blind loyalty instead of personality, produces a covert intervention area for the future of the nation, and noted that a strong education system is one of the most important guarantees of national will and democracy.
Stating that the Turkish Century Education Model does not see knowledge as an unfettered power, success as an unconscionable competition, and freedom as an area of irresponsible choice, and considers humans together with their mind, heart, will, and world of values, Tekin pointed out that establishing an education system that does not leave children's perception, will, and personality under the tutelage of any structure, and strengthens them with a sense of truth, critical thinking, morality, compassion, and love for the homeland is one of the most fundamental lessons learned from July 15. did.
"That historic night showed us that the power that protects a nation's independence is hidden in the courage that confronts the tanks and in the educational climate that cultivates that courage. It is our common responsibility to protect, strengthen and carry this climate to future generations.
