In Istanbul, motorcycle drivers organized a convoy from Saraçhane to Kısıklı with their vehicles decorated with Turkish flags on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
100 motorcyclists, members of the Black Sancak Motorcycle Club and the Conservative Bikers Club Association, gathered in Fatih Saraçhane Park and prayed for the martyrs of July 15.
Then, the drivers set off with their motorcycles decorated with Turkish flags, honking their horns, and reached Kısıklı by following the route of Fevzipaşa Street, Haliç Bridge and 15 July Martyrs Bridge.
Black Sancak Motorcycle Club Board Member Fatih Aşkar, who made a statement on behalf of the motorcyclists in Kısıklı Park, said that they gathered here today to commemorate the martyrs of July 15 with mercy and gratitude.
Stating that they will never forget the heroes who sacrificed their lives for their homeland, flag and nation on the night of the coup attempt, Aşkar said:
"As Black Sancak Motorcycle Club and Conservative Bikers Club, we carried out this ride to protect the legacy of our martyrs and to show our unity and solidarity. We commemorate all our martyrs, especially the July 15 martyrs, and express our gratitude to our veterans. May God not harm our state and nation."
After the statement, the Holy Quran was read and prayers were made for the martyrs.
