Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO) opened the 'Business Development and Cooperation Office', which is the first in Türkiye, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in order to develop international trade and strengthen commercial cooperation between companies.
MTSO Chairman of the Board of Directors Hakan Sefa Çakır, President of the Assembly Hamit İzol, Board Members İdris Üskaynak and Murat Aktoğ, as well as the United Kingdom Ankara Ambassador Jill Morris and IOM Chief of Mission Gerard Karl Waite attended the opening program held at the MTSO service building.
It was announced that the office, established within the scope of the project carried out in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM Turkey) and MTSO, will operate in line with Mersin's strong logistics infrastructure, dynamic private sector and strategic position in international trade.
It was stated that through the office, which aims to develop commercial relations between Turkish and Syrian businesses, increase cross-border economic cooperation and create new trade opportunities, guidance services will be provided to businesses in the fields of access to finance and markets, bilateral business negotiations, foreign trade processes, legislative support and training and information.
It was stated that the project aims to support safe, orderly and sustainable trade, facilitate access for businesses to new markets and strengthen regional economic cooperation. The opened office is expected to further strengthen Mersin's position in international trade and contribute to the regional economy. - MERSIN
