AK Party Istanbul Deputy, composer and lyricist Yücel Arzen Hacıoğulları composed and sang Nazım Hikmet Ran's poem "Invitation" on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of FETO's coup attempt.
Hacıoğulları shared his new composition and clip on his social media account with the words "Invitation to the Turkish Nation whose character is Independence - to July 15."
Making evaluations to the AA correspondent, Hacıoğulları said that he "dedicated his composition to the Turkish nation and its great victory on July 15".
Explaining that the name of the song is "Invitation to July 15", Hacıoğulları said:
"Composing actually means breathing into the spirit of poetry and words. This song, in addition to being a song, is also a sound installation. It is a song I wrote upon the proposal of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 'Let's re-read the book on Turkey, which we have been writing together for a thousand years.' "It is a book about Turkey. Now we will start reading it as 'ikra' again, inshallah. We will start by saying 'ikra' together in Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and Laz."
Underlining that his song is a great reference to FETO's treacherous coup attempt of July 15, Hacıoğulları said:
"Because when Nazım said, 'Let the doors be closed, never to open again,' there is also a reference to what Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said about the Turkish nation, 'Independence is my character.' 'Let the doors be closed, never to open again.' From whom does one ask for this? Of course, from the Lord, the Creator. "And I recited it fearlessly with the musical clichés of our Istanbul mosque music in the nihavend maqam."
Stating that Nazım Hikmet changed the expression "Galloping from Far Asia" in his poem to "Turkistan" in his composition, Hacıoğulları said, "I took this courage with the self-confidence given to me by the position of composer. Being a composer means having the right to change a poem. Composing means bending the meaning of a poem." made his assessment.
Hacıoğulları stated that he had the lines in the poem, "Living alone and free like a tree, and brotherly like a forest" read in Kurdish and Arabic languages in his composition.
