Teams went to the field against the risk of forest fire due to extremely hot weather, low humidity and strong winds, which increased their impact in Marmaris. Marmaris Forest Management Directorate teams have been warning citizens not to light fires by making announcements from vehicles with megaphones in the district center and rural neighborhoods for the last few days.
In the announcements made, it was requested not to light fires in forest areas and forest edges, not to burn stubble and garden waste, not to throw cigarette butts into the environment and to avoid any behavior that could cause a fire. The teams reminded citizens that the slightest negligence could lead to a major forest fire and asked citizens to show maximum sensitivity.
Marmaris Forest Management Directorate teams stated that the risk of flames is at its highest level, especially on days when temperatures are above seasonal norms, humidity is low and wind is effective, and called for a notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center without delay in case of possible smoke or flames. - MUĞLA
