Within the scope of the murder investigation regarding university student Gülistan Doku (21), who has been missing in TUNCELİ since January 5, 2020, a special team of 30 people, formed upon the request of the Ministry of Justice and the instructions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is searching for the body of the young girl with underground imaging devices in an area of approximately 100 kilometers at the points determined in line with the narrowed base records.
The investigation of Gülistan Doku, who has been missing in Tunceli since January 5, 2020, was taken up again with the instructions of Ebru Cansu, who was appointed as the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor by the HSK's June 2024 decree. Approximately 700 hours of KGYS and security camera footage and PTS records were examined by the special team formed from JASAT, and new images were added to the file. In line with the evidence obtained, the investigation was turned into a murder file. 17 suspects were detained during the operations. The other suspect, Umut Altaş, who was in the USA and for whom a red notice was issued, was detained in his country and sent to prison.
Among the suspects who were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the gendarmerie, Mustafa Türkay Sonel, son of the then Governor of Tunceli, Tuncay Sonel, and Erdoğan Elaldı, who was found to have had last contact with Gülistan Doku through restricted base activities and was an employee of the Special Provincial Administration at the time, were sent to prison for the crime of 'deliberate murder'. Gülistan Doku's ex-boyfriend Zeinal Abarakov, Abarakov's father Engin Yücer and his mother Cemile Yücer, fugitive suspect Umut Altaş's father Celal Altaş and his mother Nurşen Arıkan, expelled police officer Gökhan Ertok and Şükrü Eroğlu, who was Tuncay Sonel's close guard at the time, were sent to prison for 'concealing and destroying evidence of crime'. Ferhat Güven, on the other hand, was arrested and sent to prison for the crime of "Plunder" for his action against Gülistan Doku's older sister, Aygül Doku.
Çağdaş Özdemir, the then Chief Physician of Tunceli State Hospital, who was detained in Bursa and brought to the Tunceli Courthouse for allegedly deleting Gülistan Doku's hospital records, was also sent to prison on charges of "corrupting, destroying or concealing the official document". Governor Tuncay Sonel was sent to prison for the crimes of 'Destroying, concealing or changing criminal evidence', 'Blocking, corrupting, destroying or changing data in the IT system, unlawfully giving or seizing personal data', 'Destroying, destroying or concealing official documents'. The suspects are U.A. and S.G. from Munzur University, who is responsible for the cameras. and S.Ö. He was released under judicial control. Tunceli State Hospital IT officers Burçin Y. and Yücel E., who were detained on charges of 'destroying and concealing evidence' for allegedly deleting hospital records, were released on condition of judicial control.
UMUT ALTAŞ WILL APPEAR IN FRONT OF THE JUDGE AGAIN ON JULY 21
The hearing in the immigration case of fugitive suspect Umut Altaş, for whom an arrest warrant was issued with a red notice within the scope of the investigation and who was arrested after being transferred to custody in the USA, will be held on July 21.
In order to find the body of Gülistan Doku, upon the request of the Ministry of Justice and the instructions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a special team of 30 people consisting of Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) and JASAT teams affiliated with the Tunceli Provincial Gendarmerie Command continues its activities with the coordination and participation of Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor Ebru Cansu. Working on narrowed base data and suspicious points, the teams scan the designated areas with underground imaging devices. Thanks to the infrared signals sent by the devices, a three-dimensional image of the underground is obtained and suspicious areas are examined in detail. Despite the ongoing activities in an area of approximately 100 kilometers, Doku's lifeless body has not been found yet.
