Within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, Denizli Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate illuminated the World Heritage Pamukkale and Hierapolis Ancient City with red and white lights, the colors of the Turkish flag. A meaningful commemoration event was held in Denizli on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day. In the activity organized by Denizli Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Pamukkale and the Ancient City of Hierapolis, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, were illuminated with red and white lights, which are the symbols of the Turkish flag.
The visual activity, which was carried out to commemorate the resistance of the nation that defended the national will on the night of July 15, 2016, brought together both the historical heritage and the spirit of national unity in the same frame. Pamukkale and Hierapolis, illuminated with red and white colors throughout the night, created impressive images.
The event video, shared on social media by Denizli Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, was soon published by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, on his own accounts.
In his post, Minister Ersoy said, "July 15 is a heroic epic written in golden letters in our history, in which our nation defends its will, democracy and independence. In order to keep this glorious heritage alive and commemorate our martyrs with mercy and our heroic veterans with gratitude, we illuminated the World Heritage Pamukkale and the Ancient City of Hierapolis with red and white, the noble colors of our star and crescent flag.
