Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the first joint military exercise of the Coalition of Volunteers on Ukraine will be held in Poland in the autumn.
According to the news of Poland's public broadcaster TVP World, Prime Minister Tusk made a statement to journalists about the Volunteer Coalition Summit on Ukraine, which he attended in Paris, the capital of France.
Stating that the first joint military exercise of the Coalition of Volunteers will be held in Poland in the autumn, Tusk stated that the exercises will be multinational and England and France will be among the main participants.
Tusk said that his country will take part in the exercise both as a host and a participating country.
Stating that the exercises in question are aimed at "preparation for real security guarantees for Ukraine and the region", Tusk stated that Poland will make not only the permanent US military presence, but also the logistical and financial preparations for the deployment of British and French troops in the country.
Tusk said Poland could join the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition, which aims to create a joint ballistic missile defense capacity in Europe.
Making evaluations about the war in Ukraine, Tusk stated that Russia is likely to continue its attacks at least until the winter months.
Stating that he discussed the possibility of a ceasefire with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Tusk stated that the possibility of a ceasefire is low in the near term due to Russian President Vladimir Putin's "strict stance".
Tusk also emphasized that they took all necessary measures to prevent any possible tension from Russia from affecting Poland.
The Coalition of Volunteers on Ukraine was launched in March 2025 under the leadership of the United Kingdom and France, with the aim of ensuring a permanent and fair peace in Ukraine on the basis of security guarantees for Ukraine. The coalition, mostly made up of European countries, has more than 30 members.
