A group of 17 people sailed to the Black Sea in RIZE within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day and swam 4 kilometers in 1.5 hours in the wavy sea.
A swimming event called "From One Start to Another Rize" was organized by a group of 17 swimmers in Rize on the occasion of July 15, Democracy and National Unity Day. In the event held for the 8th time this year; The group threw themselves into the deep waters of the Black Sea from Rize Port. The group swam 4 kilometers, despite the wavy sea, and came ashore from the finishing point, İslampaşa District, after 1.5 hours. At the end of the event, participants were given medals.
Former Rize Mayor Halil Bakırcı, who organized the event, said, "As part of the Rize program from one end to the other, we enter the sea from here and swim a distance of approximately 4 kilometers, just ahead of the marina, in memory of July 15 with our friends. I hope God will never show such a July 15 to our country again. We dedicate this country to us, to all our past who contributed to the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the 15th of July." "I thank our people who resisted July, and I wish God's mercy to our martyrs on July 15 and all our martyrs in the past. I hope that as we get older, we can include this in Rize's program at the governorship level, at the state level, and we will be even happier if this program is made at the governorship level every July 15."
