Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) teams affiliated with the District Gendarmerie Command reached the Russian tourists who were reported lost in the Hamlakit Plateau in the Çat Valley of Rize's Çamlıhemşin district.
According to the information obtained, a large-scale search and rescue operation was launched in the region upon the notice of relatives of Russian tourists who went hiking in Hamlakit Plateau yesterday evening. As a result of the activities carried out throughout the night despite the difficult terrain and weather conditions, JAK teams located the tourists.
It was learned that the Russian tourists reached by the teams were in good health. Tourists, whose first checks are made in the region, are safely taken from the area where they are and brought to Çamlıhemşin district center.
While the necessary procedures regarding the incident are ongoing, the authorities warned citizens and tourists, especially those who will hike on plateau and mountain routes, to take the weather conditions into account, inform the authorities or their relatives about their route in advance, and set out with the necessary equipment. - RIZE
