12-year-old Gökalp Kahraman in Kütahya continues to share the success he achieved in every report card period with his father, Specialist Sergeant Hasan Kahraman, who was martyred in 2016. Gökalp, who lost his father when he was only 7 months old, experienced emotional moments by taking his report card to his father's grave this year.

In the commemoration program held at the Kütahya Tayyare Martyrdom on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, Kütahya Governor Musa Işın and the provincial protocol visited the graves of the martyrs, laid carnations and prayed. During the visit, Gökalp Kahraman, who was waiting at his father's grave with his report card in his hand, also attracted the attention of the protocol members.

Gökalp, the son of Specialist Sergeant Hasan Kahraman, who was martyred in 2016, completed the 5th grade with outstanding success and moved on to the 6th grade. The 12-year-old student, who got the highest grades in all his classes, wanted to share his success with his father by sticking his report card on his gravestone.

Stating that he continues the same tradition in every report card period, Gökalp Kahraman said, "I bring my report card every season and give it to my martyr father. I am trying to be successful. I want to be a software engineer in the future."

This meaningful behavior of Gökalp also touched the protocol members present at the martyrdom. Dumlupınar University Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak congratulated Gökalp and prayed at his father's grave. Kızıltoprak chatted with the little student for a while and asked him what profession he wanted to do in the future.

Gökalp's grandfather, Beytullah Kahraman, stated that his grandson comes to the martyrdom with the same excitement every report card period and said, "My father brings his report card with the hope that he sees it."

This meaningful tradition, carried on for years by Gökalp Kahraman, who lost his father who was martyred when he was a baby, caused emotional moments on July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, and once again revealed the sacrifice of the families of the martyrs and the longing of their children for their fathers. - KUTAHYA
