A commemoration ceremony was held at the graveside of Malatya for 31-year-old Fuat Bozkurt, who was martyred as a result of fire opened from a helicopter in Ankara Red Crescent, where he went out to prevent the coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) on July 15, 2016.
Fuat Bozkurt, who rose to the level of martyrdom on the night of the coup attempt in the Red Crescent while working as a construction equipment operator in a private company in Ankara, was commemorated at his grave in Yeşiltepe City Cemetery.
In addition to the family and relatives of the martyr, Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz, 2nd Army Commander Lieutenant General Zorlu Topaloğlu, 7th Main Jet Base Commander Air Pilot Brigadier General Serdar Akkoyun and Metropolitan Mayor Sami Er, Provincial Police Chief Kayhan Ay, Deputy Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Gendarmerie Colonel Ahmet Erekici, AK Party Malatya Provincial Chairman Ali Bakan, MHP Malatya Provincial Chairman Turgay Şengönül were present at the ceremony. and citizens participated.
At the ceremony, after the recitation of the Holy Quran, prayers were made and carnations were left on the grave of the martyr.
Speaking here, Governor Seddar Yavuz stated that our beloved nation prevented the treacherous coup attempt with its courage, and that FETO, which acted as a subcontractor of global intelligence organizations, received the response it deserved from the determined nation and the blessed state.
Yavuz noted that they will continue to protect the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Türkiye.
