Silifke District Governor Eyüp Fırat published a message on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
In his message, Fırat stated that our beloved nation protected its state, flag and future by displaying a great example of courage and sacrifice in that dark night.
Fırat noted that the citizens who filled the squares upon the call of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, acting shoulder to shoulder with the security forces, did not allow this treacherous attempt targeting the national will, and included the following in his message:
"Thus, the words of the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, 'Sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation', came to life once again with the determined stance of our nation on the night of July 15. July 15 is one of the strongest symbols of the spirit of unity and solidarity of our nation. On the 10th anniversary of this meaningful day, we commemorate our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our country with mercy and gratitude, and wish our hero veterans a healthy and peaceful life. I wish."
