In Sinop, a commemoration and sapling care program was held in the commemorative forest created in memory of the martyrs on the occasion of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Governor Mustafa Özarslan said at the event held in the commemorative forest in Bektaşağa village of the center, that the Turkish nation protected democracy, independence and national will on the night of July 15.
Stating that it is important to protect the relics of martyrs and veterans, Özarslan said, "Today, we are rooting the love of our homeland, our national memory and the trust we will leave to future generations in the soil. Every sapling is a symbol." he said.
Emphasizing that there was an incalculable power on the night of FETO's coup attempt, Özarslan said, "With the help of God, that power was the courage, spirit of unity and love of our beloved nation that filled the squares under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Our great nation stood against betrayal with its faith and declared a single truth to the world. The will is ours, the victory is ours. As each sapling grows here today, I hope it will grow in our unity and solidarity." he said.
Later in the program, prayers were made for all the martyrs who lost their lives for the sake of the country, especially Ömer Can Açıkgöz.
