In the smuggling operations carried out by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams in Şırnak in the last week, weapons, smuggled cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, tobacco, mobile phones and many customs smuggled materials with a market value of approximately 15 million 675 thousand liras were seized. Legal proceedings were initiated against 56 suspects during the operations.
Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch Directorate teams carried out an operation throughout the city in line with the intelligence information obtained between 6-12 July. Within the scope of the operation, houses, buildings and vehicles belonging to 56 suspects were searched. During the searches, 1 pistol, 1 shotgun, 3 Kalashnikov magazines, 2 pistol magazines, 88 Kalashnikov cartridges, 29 pistol cartridges, 30 shotgun cartridges, 52 mobile phones, 19 thousand 338 unlicensed cigarettes, 274 electronic cigarettes and liquids, 16 kilograms of hookah tobacco, 2 thousand 116 miscellaneous hardware materials, 275 textile products, 86 cosmetics and ornaments and 571 various customs smuggled products were seized. Gendarmerie teams determined that the total market value of the seized illegal products was approximately 15 million 675 thousand lira.
During the investigations, it was determined that the suspects were trying to smuggle smuggled cigarettes, tobacco and various customs smuggled products into the country without subjecting them to legal customs procedures, and it was reported that judicial proceedings were initiated against 56 suspects.
