Subaru has recalled more than half a million vehicles. According to the NHTSA report, the recall covers Ascent, Forester and Crosstrek models. The reason is the incorrectly listed Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) on the vehicles. This value indicates the amount of load an axle system can carry.
The majority of the recalled vehicles are 2019-2026 Ascent SUVs. The list includes 384,407 Ascents, 77,504 Forester Hybrids, 49,946 Foresters and 29,380 Crosstreks. Subaru will send new labels to owners, and those who wish can have them installed at the dealer for free. The company plans to notify owners at the end of next month.
