Activities initiated to save the cargo ship that ran aground off the coast of Tekirdağ continue.
The Sao Tome and Principe flagged cargo ship named "REGALO", loaded with 27 thousand 500 tons of paddy, which ran aground in front of Ceyport Port yesterday while sailing off the coast of Tekirdağ, is kept at its current location with its crew of 20 people.
Following the incident, Coast Guard Command teams were dispatched to the region and took security measures around the ship. During the first checks, it was learned that the health of the crew was good and the captain of the ship did not request emergency assistance.
Coastal Police General Directorate teams also continue their preparations for the rescue operation. Divers teams conducted an underwater inspection around the ship and evaluated the situation caused by grounding.
While it was stated that no pollution was found in the sea during the controls, it was learned that the relevant procedures are expected to be completed in order to safely float and rescue the ship. - TEKİRDAĞ
