Security measures were taken around the paddy-laden cargo ship that ran aground off the coast of Tekirdağ, and an underwater examination was carried out in the area where the ship was located.
The Sao Tome and Principe flagged cargo ship named "REGALO", 169 meters long and 27 meters wide, loaded with 27 thousand 500 tons of paddy, is waiting with its crew of 20 people.
Security measures were taken around the ship by the Coast Guard Command teams. Underwater investigations were carried out in the area where the ship was located by divers from the Coastal Police. No sea pollution was found during the controls.
In accordance with the legislation, the General Directorate of Coastal Safety will initiate a rescue operation after the 72 hours given to the company to which the ship is affiliated to rescue the ship from its location have expired.
The ship ran aground in front of Ceyport Harbor yesterday, and Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the area upon notice.
